This Really Happened Recently

If you are a soccer fan and steam train nut, then this is the ideal scene.

Imagine passing the ball and then hearing a whistle as a train roars down the side of the pitch!

This happened in Slovakia recently and made world news. Don’t know why I didn’t hear this story sooner?

Bizzarly a railway line runs along the side of the pitch and there are real steam trains travelling on it.

Steam is alive and well on a coal railway in Bosnia, so if you are up for an adventure, you can still visit and get some shots.

On the pitch the players of amateur side TJ Tatran Cierny Balog remember their coach’s words and keep their eyes on the ball throughout. They were not to be distracted by such an amazing site.

I might just take up soccer (sorry football to our English friends) after this!

Here is some more of the story from the Mirror in the UK recently.

There are plenty of distractions for players during a game; fan chants, pryotechnics, the giant screen showing replays of your miss.

But not many footballers have had to contest with a STEAM TRAIN chugging its way along the side of the pitch.

But that’s exactly what players from Slovakian amateur side TJ Tatran Čierny Balog have to put up with what looks like on a regular basi s.

Footage showing an old style stream train travelling along tracks between the pitch and the stand where some supporters are sat has emerged… and it is crazy .

The fans don’t seem to mind, though, and the players seen unfazed, but it only leaves us with one question…

Who designed this stadium?!

Watch the video – this has to be seen to be believed!
